Update Graphics Driver NVIDIA GeForce#

Claude-2-100k

Update Steps#

For NVIDIA GeForce MX130 discrete graphics card, you can download and update the driver as follows:

  1. Open the NVIDIA official website and go to the driver download page.

  2. At the top, you can choose to automatically scan the system configuration and recommend drivers, or you can manually select.

  3. Select the GeForce series product, and in the series, choose GeForce MX100 series.

  4. Then select the GeForce MX130 model, which will display all the driver versions applicable to this model.

  5. Choose a stable Game Ready driver for your system and download it.

  6. You can also click "Search for my driver" and enter the laptop model to find a precise match.

  7. After downloading, double-click the installation package to install the new driver.

    • During the installation process, there are two options:
      • NVIDIA Graphics Driver and GeForce Experience: GeForce Experience is an auxiliary tool launched by NVIDIA, providing game optimization, driver updates, and other functions and services. It is not part of the driver and is an optional component.
      • NVIDIA Graphics Driver: It is the core component of the driver, including the necessary driver files and libraries for running and managing the graphics card hardware. It must be installed and is equivalent to the minimum required package for the driver.

After the installation is complete, restart the computer and open Device Manager to check if the driver version has been updated to the new version.

Note that you need to download the 64-bit or 32-bit driver version that matches your system. Also, the latest version of the driver is not necessarily the most stable. If you encounter problems, you can revert to a previously working version.

If your discrete graphics card model is not automatically matched, you can manually select and download it.

View the Version of the NVIDIA Graphics Driver in Use#

You can use the following methods to view the version of the NVIDIA graphics driver currently in use:

  1. Open Control Panel, go to "Programs and Features," find the entry for the NVIDIA graphics driver, and the current version number will be displayed.

  2. Right-click on the desktop, select "NVIDIA Control Panel," and after opening the control panel, you can see the current driver version at the bottom.

  3. Right-click the Start menu, select "Device Manager," expand "Display Adapters," right-click your NVIDIA graphics card, select "Properties," switch to the "Driver" tab, and you can see the driver version information.

  4. In Device Manager, you can also directly right-click your NVIDIA graphics card, select "Update Driver," and the current driver version will be displayed in the pop-up window.

  5. Open the GeForce Experience tool, and in the Drivers tab, you can directly view the currently installed driver version.

  6. Use third-party tools such as GPU-Z to view the version information of the graphics driver in more detail.

  7. If you already know the specific version number, you can also open a Command Prompt window and enter the "nvidia-smi" command to view it.

In summary, you can use methods such as Control Panel, Device Manager, NVIDIA's own tools, etc., to view the version number of the NVIDIA graphics driver and determine the current driver situation.
